Website Design Services for Small Business and Ecommerce
Good web design can do a lot for your business. A website is often a vital part of the series of events that brings customers to your door, your phone or your email inbox.
Whether you want to make a great first impression for someone discovering your services for the first time, or give more information to someone who already knows about your business, a well designed website can help.
BlueGreen provide website design services with your goals in mind: we want to help your business grow. That means that our approach to design is not to merely “create something nice”, but rather to create a useful part of your organisation.
A website can “solve a problem” for you – whether that’s not having enough new customers, returning customers or not having a place to display clear, useful information to your target audience.
What is the purpose of a website?
- A website is a place where visitors can find out about your business
- It’s a platform for answering customer service questions
- It’s a fully-functioning shop for you to sell from directly
- It’s a lead-generating entity designed to help your company grow
- It’s a community for engaging with your customers or followers

The #1 Objective of our Website Design service is to help you achieve your business goals, which usually mean more enquiries & sales
Over the last year and a half we’ve generated over 10,000 leads, enquiries and sales for our clients

Quality features as standard
The web evolves, but we value these three features as important standards and marks of quality:
Mobile, Desktop, Whatever – your new website will work on devices your visitors use – mobile, tablet, desktop
Optimised for Speed – Fast loading websites that offer a better experience for your visitors
Security – Traffic to your website will go over HTTPS using an SSL certificate
We endeavour to include these features in all new websites where possible —if you have your own hosting then we’ll work with you to take the best approach 🙂
Case Study: New Design Leads To 60% Increase In Conversion Rate (Construction Business)
We’ve launched two new designs for a construction company over the last three years. Both designs have had a real effect on the company.
The first design launch, coupled with an SEO campaign, led to twice their normal amount of traffic.
The second re-design was focussed on one thing – increasing the conversion rate. We analysed how their previous visitors found and used the website, which pages and messages they read and respond to, and found some very useful insights. We looked at what made visitors feel compelled to call, email or submit a contact form, and made the motivational factors behind those enquiries more prominent in the new design.

You can see increases in business enquiries after each new design was launched (the light blue line shows enquiries)
The results were really pleasing – an increase in conversion rate by over 60%, which meant more leads and sales for the client from then on – they were very happy!
The Right Website Technology For Your Business Needs
You probably don’t want to choose which platform to build your website with. You’re more concerned with how it looks, how easy it is to use, if the content is right and, ultimately, how it performs.
That’s good – we’ll pick the right technology depending on the results you’re looking for.
We favour technologies that allow us to build websites quickly, are secure and robust, and well-supported in the industry.
We’re familiar with a range of coding languages, frameworks and Content Management Systems (CMS), so if there’s a particular technology you are thinking about, please let us know.
WordPress is an open-source content management system that powers over 20% of all websites.
Foundation is a front-end framework that allow for rapid design and development of websites, apps and emails.
HTML5 is a modern markup language used for structuring and presenting content on the World Wide Web.
Laravel is an open-source framework intended for the development of web applications.
Magento is a flexible open-source content management system for e-commerce websites.
Shopify is a flexible ecommerce solution for online retailers.

Responsive Web Design for Mobile/Desktop/Tablet & Multiple Devices
It’s important that you have a website that can help meet your business objectives. People looking for your goods and services make decisions quickly – if they have a good ‘experience’ finding and using your website it’s likely they’ll make contact or purchase from you.
A good experience means that the website “works” on various devices – on a desktop computer, on a mobile phone (iPhone, Android), on a Tablet computer (iPad etc). The internet changes quickly, but with a ‘Responsive’ design you can have one website that works across all devices, without the need to create a mobile app and three separate websites.
Ecommerce Website Development
Having worked with a number of ecommerce retailers, and even run our own store, we know about the challenges and opportunities ecommerce has. There are a huge variety of ecommerce platforms available. Whether you’re looking to sell a small range of products or thousands of different SKUs BlueGreen will make sure you get the right platform to grow your online business.
Business “Brochure” Websites
A business website is not just a simple advertisement. It really is a place for people to find out more about what you can do to solve their particular problems, what you’ve done for others and why you’re different.
Your business website could save you time having to answering questions over the phone whilst making sure your business is growing.
Public, Third Sector & Charities
We tend to use business terms and methods in describing our services, but these examples are all transferrable to a Public, Third Sector or Charity organisation. You need to raise awareness and “convert customers” in almost an identical way to private companies.
