XKCD is a “webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language”, and it’s worth reading regularly.
However, the experience of using the website on a phone isn’t as good as it is on the desktop, and it’s 2017.
There’s no ‘responsive’ version of the site, and the mobile version at https://m.xkcd.com/ doesn’t show up in search results for a search for [xkcd]:
The irony of the meta description is that it’s arguably true.
One of the great things that comes with each comic is the text in the image Title attribute. This text usually contains more text related to the comic, something funny, moving or informative (it’s a maths comic, so expect maths).
Wait…Title Attribute Text or ALT Attribute Text?
Note that I’ve written Image Title Text, not Image ALT Text – people are confusing the two things – as you can see from these Google Suggested Searches:
As you can see from the source code, there’s not much going on in the ALT attribute.
You can view the image Title on a computer by hovering over the image, like so:

- Go to XKCD.com
- Read the comic
- Hold down/long-press the image as if you were going to save it
- The Title text will appear on your phone above the Save button
